Well, I made three pizzas last night for some company we had. We had over some people from our Sunday school class. I had also made some red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese icing and cherry cheesecake cupcakes. It was a good time. I enjoyed talking to someone over the age of 4. The kids enjoyed playing, although Hannah wanted to play only what SHE wanted to play, which was babies upstairs in her room. She got over it though and just played.
Tonight I went to a convenient care physician's place. My ear has been hurting off and on for a couple of weeks, and it started after I'd had a cold and a bunch of congestion for a couple of weeks. Turns out I do have a lot of fluid in that ear, and he said I had a combo ear and sinus infection. I have a prescription for a Z-pack and a steroid. I wasn't able to get them filled tonight because I went in so late to the doctor, so the pharmacy was closed, but I'll get it done tomorrow. I've dealt with it for a long time already, so another half a day isn't a big deal. The worst part of the whole thing is something that happened to Hannah. This place has an awesome play place and a small movie theater in it, so we like to take our kids there if we go. They love it. Hannah and Seth were playing and there was another little girl in there playing, too. Dusty was keeping Hannah away from the girl because she'd been coughing. Dusty came to talk to me for a second, and the girl went right up to Hannah and started talking to her. As Dusty walked back in the girl coughed RIGHT in Hannah's face. She grimaced/smiled and looked at Dusty, and wiped her face with her hand. Yeah, it was projectile spittle. Fortunately, I had JUST given Dusty some spray Germ-X and some in a little bottle. He ushered them both out of the room to the movie theater (where another boy was hacking). He sprayed the stuff in his hands and wiped it on her face. Needless to say, she got a VERY thorough bath. I asked the doctor that saw me if he could call me and tell me if I needed to watch out for something with her. This girl had a rash all over her mouth too. I have no idea what she had. I guess I'll find out in a week or so. Hopefully she won't be sick on my birthday (Friday). I'd hate for her not to get to celebrate. Birthdays are her favorites. I'll just medicate her, if she is. :) Also, I'm pretty sure they'll never go back to that place, unless there's no other option.
Speaking of birthdays, I got two cookbooks in the mail yesterday from Becky. :) She got me a Taste of Home cookbook, which is fantastic because I LOVE LOVE Taste of Home and it's so hard to deal with all the magazines. Also, she got me the Pioneer Woman cookbook! I LOVE Pioneer Woman!!! She has a blog and she's hilarious, and her cookbook is equally hilarious and so great. I can't wait to cook stuff! What awesome presents. Those couldn't have been better.
The kids got to play in the snow this morning before it all melted away. They got out their pool stuff and dug in the snow. Dusty did some maintenance on his car while we were outside. Whew...
...my brain has officially kicked into neutral. Until next time...
That Quality Care place is AWESOME. Did you get hot chocolate?
